International Conference on Contributions of Acharya Jagdish Chandra Bose : A Satyagrahi Scientist

It would be our worst enemy who would wish us to live only on the glories of the past and die off from the face of the earth in sheer passivity said Sir Jagdish Chandra Bose, the pioneer of radio and microwave optics. Bose was a strong believer of the fact that science could go far beyond what was apparent to the naked eye. He studied Physical Science at Calcutta and Natural Science in England. Despite facing racism in his job, he joined Presidency College as an Associate professor of Physics and carried out numerous research. Sir Bose was a renowned botanist, physicist, biologist, and author of 17 science fictions. Sir JC Bose enlightened the world about plants as living forms. He discovered a sensitive instrument called a Crescograph which measured the rate of growth of plants.

J C Bose discovered wireless communication and was named the Father of Radio Science by the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineering. He was responsible for the expansion of experimental science in India. From his contribution to biophysics to his contribution to the freedom struggle, there are numerous facets of his life that are undiscovered.
